If you’re looking for a newly renovated office space, in a well-established area in Dublin, you’re in luck. Premier Business Centres are excited to unveil our brand-new partner location on Dublin’s prestigious Baggot Street with a number of unique features that really make us stand out from the crowd. One of which is the introduction of standing desks throughout our new office space.

We are the only partner office provider (that we know of!) that are currently offering these innovative standing desks as standard and across the board in our new location. These desks may seem a little unusual at first and take a little getting used to but once you’ve mastered them and know how to use them to best suit your body, you’ll never look back.

Sitting All Day

Did you know sitting down all day can be detrimental to your health? It is a leading factor in cases of diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, all of which are contributing factor in the future development of dementia. Even more frighteningly, if your day to day job involves sitting down all day you are twice as likely to develop heart disease than someone with a more active job. Given these scary statistics, what can you do to try to counteract this worrying trend?

Benefits of Standing Desks

Standing desks are a huge trend among the big corporations in Silicon Valley so they must be doing something right! Some of the many benefits include:

  •  Improved energy and concentrations levels
  • Less back pain and mobility problems caused by lack of movement

  • Standing up regularly is proven to increase circulation and reduce fatigue

  • Standing burns up to 60 calories per hour, reducing the risk of obesity

  • Lowers blood sugar levels lessening chances of diabetes

  • Improves energy levels which in turn improves your mood

How do they work?

Standing at your desk has been proven to improve the productivity and the overall health of your workforce, but how? We’re not suggesting you stand all day every day, but alternating between standing and sitting for 30-60 minutes each can have a huge impact on your day. Giving your employees the choice of standing up or sitting down at work allows them the freedom and flexibility to move about and stretch instead of being chained to a restrictive desk & office chair.

Our standing desks are electronically height adjustable to allow you to sit or stand with minimal effort. To begin, set your standing desk to elbow height, so your elbows are at a 90-degree angle to the floor. Try to set your screen at a 20-degree angle pointing upward toward and at least 20 inches from your face, then change your keyboard and mouse positions to suit you.

If you want your new workplace to be as flexible and modern as your business, contact Therese in Premier Business Centres to enquire about the brand-new addition to our portfolio. Our new Baggot Street building is open for viewings and will be officially opened in May 2019 for our first residents.
