Tips To Keep Employees Motivated over Christmas

Christmas is a great time of the year to spend time with your family, treat each other to special gifts and of course, eat our fill of delicious Christmas food. But what if you or your employees are stuck in work over the Christmas? It can be hard to keep staff motivated in the run-up to the big day but here are our top tips:

Relax The Dress Code

If your staff don’t have meetings in the run-up to Christmas, you might consider relaxing your dress code for the few weeks. Make it clear to your staff that professional conduct is always expected of them but that they can dress in smart casual clothes instead of business attire in the weeks before Christmas. This will boost spirits and give staff the freedom to enjoy an after-work engagement or shopping without having to carry a change of clothes.

Flexible working

Where possible, you could consider offering staff a more flexible working schedule in the weeks before Christmas. You could offer early mornings for early finishes or extended lunch breaks so they can get some Christmas shopping done at lunchtime and avoid the weekend rush. Where possible, family-friendly policies like working from home can be a big help to parents with children on school holidays.

CHristmas Party

Christmas Parties can be the biggest event of the year in some companies and a great way to make staff feel appreciated and valued after a long year of hard work. Mix up the usual formula of ‘Christmas lunch and drinks’ this year with an alternative party idea like:
